Narodila sa v Swindone.
Keď mala deväť, jej rodina sa presťahovala do Ely Cambridgeshire.
Pracovala ako kaderníčka v otcovom podniku, neskôr začala sama podnikať a otvorila si vlastný kadernícky salón.
Písať začala v roku 1976.
V roku 2004 získala cenu RNA Romance a Betty NEELS Trophy.
Žije s manželom v Cambridgeshire. Druhý domov majú v Norfolku.
Rada pozoruje voľné žijúce zvieratá a miluje písanie o kráse prírody.
